Will's Word: ‘Not a protest for morality, it’s a blatant act of intimidation’

William Terite says Destiny Church’s protest at a children’s event on the weekend was intimidation not faith, exposing their toxic mix of hate and control.

It’s 2025, in case you need a reminder.

I thought by now we’d be a progressive country where everyone is respected no matter how they choose to live their life. But nah, there are still some who want to bring others down.

Destiny Church’s latest stunt is disgraceful and cannot be ignored.

Their 'Man Up' group’s protest at a children’s event in Te Atatū is a new low, laying bare their toxic mix of hate disguised as morality.

A Saturday afternoon children’s drag king reading event, meant to celebrate inclusivity, was disrupted, allegedly, by Destiny Church.

Apparently, led by Brian Tamaki, protesters stormed the library, terrifying children and forcing them to lock themselves in a room to escape harassment.

This is not a protest for morality - it’s a blatant act of intimidation.

I’m going to call it what it is. Tamaki's cult incited chaos, not leading with faith.

It’s a far cry from the values of love and kindness they claim to represent.

Tamaki’s praise for their actions only proves how out of touch and, frankly, dangerous he is.

Destiny Church’s actions have nothing to do with Christian love, at least from my interpretation.

They're about control and pushing outdated views on others. And I’m sick of it.

This is not the first time this group has behaved like this. Utterly disgusting behaviour.

We should be able to co-exist in a world where people get along. No matter how they identify, no matter their sexual orientation.

Listen to Will's Word on Facebook.

Am I too woke? Is that the problem? Is it too hard to ask for everyone to get along? Apparently so.

Some in this country still hold outdated sentiments and outdated values. And I've had enough.

It’s just sad, frankly. It's time to hold them accountable. The police are investigating, and they should be.

This kind of behaviour has no place in our communities.

That’s Will’s Word.
