A Pacific National Party candidate says she chose to stand for National because she loves its values.
Angee Nicholas, who was born in the Cook Islands, is standing in Te Atatu in West Auckland.
She told Brian Sagala on Pacific Days: "I look at Pacific people being hard-working individuals and hard-working individuals should be rewarded for their work.
'So I want to with the National Party create opportunities and I think that's what a good government should do, is create and deliver opportunities for families, for kids, to get ahead no matter what your background is."
