Victoria Ongolea
Pacific financial well-being advocate
Victoria offered practical advice for the holidays.
“I just hope that everyone will have a wonderful time. You know, it's a time for celebration. But the keyword that you just use here is season. It is a season.
“Other seasons are coming up after Christmas. There's New Year's, then back to school. Some other expenses and bills are yet to come.
“We love the celebration, we love having a feed with the families and that, but also to share the load.
“Having a big family and the way we do things should be a benefit. It shouldn't be detrimental. So we should share the load.
“Don't take all the responsibility and the obligation on yourself. If everyone is coming over for a feed, you know, everyone brings a plate to share, but also, at the same time, there are other things to do that shouldn't cost as much money to be together with your family.
“Just spend wisely, stick to your budget, and have a great time.”
