Pro League matches postponed due to severe weather - OFC

Two games scheduled today in Auckland have been called off as heavy rain and weather warnings remain in place across Tāmaki Makaurau.

The Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) has postponed both Pro League matches due to be played in Auckland today because of adverse weather conditions and safety concerns.

The decision comes as the city remains under a Heavy Rain Warning, with severe weather affecting large parts of the region.

The matches were scheduled to take place at North Harbour Stadium and have now been postponed in the interests of player, official and spectator safety.

The first fixture affected was Tahiti United versus PNG Hekari FC, which was set for a 3pm kick-off (NZT). The evening match between South Melbourne FC and Solomon Islands club Solomon Kings FC, scheduled for 7pm, has also been postponed.

Auckland is currently under an Orange Heavy Rain Warning, in place from 9am on Wednesday through to 2am on Thursday.

With weather conditions expected to remain challenging throughout the day, OFC officials decided to delay the fixtures rather than risk unsafe playing conditions.

Both matches will be rescheduled to a later date within the current Pro League competition window.

The OFC has confirmed that updated fixture details will be shared once arrangements are finalised.

Fans, teams, and stakeholders are advised to await further announcements regarding revised kick-off times and dates. For more information on the OFC Pro League competition, click here.
