A 'proud Cook Islander' hopes his song helps promote pride in te Reo Māori Kūki 'Airani language and the Cook Islands in general.

From the studio to screens, a Kūki ‘Āirani youth worker from the Deep South launches his first music video to YouTube.
Dunedin-based Teira Dean has always dabbled in music, playing in Cook Islands bands for his church and at South Island Polyfests.
After returning from a recent trip to Rarotonga, Dean was inspired to write a love letter to the Islands he descends from on his maternal side.
Speaking on PMN Cooks, Dean says his song called ‘Akatokamanava/Enua Manihiki’ was a family project he couldn’t be more happy with.
“This song means a lot to me as a proud Cook Islander here in Dunedin, representing my grandmother’s Island of Akatokamanava and my mum’s island of Manihiki.
“We were able to launch a video clip made by my little brothers, making things look good without a budget and I’m extremely proud of the end product.”
