Afu Taumoepeau is making waves in the tech world, using cutting edge technology to streamline workflow and optimise business processes.

“The first thing you have to do is stop trying to make documents of PDFs better, you have to move outside of that.”

After spending three years in different operations roles, Taumoepeau was inspired to launch OP Media after he worked with a large healthcare organisation and discovered a way to build technology to address inefficiencies.

“A lot of time, if you go into a company, you ask them the best way to do something, and when they deliver it to you, they'll deliver it in a document.

“Our technology actually is different where you don't have to know how to code or programme, but you can build out process … so what you're doing with our technology is you're moving from this static state and documents to now a dynamic state in what we call OP - optimal process.”

The company has clients across the healthcare, energy, government and cybersecurity, and Taumoepeau said their core work is solving productivity issues in the workplace that can then lead to exponential growth.

“Operations is very much about trying to find efficiency, the best way to do something, and a lot of times you find yourself in a position where you can do that, but if you don't have the right tools, you can't really scale it out, you can't get it to other people to do it the exact same way that you do it.”

Despite launching in early 2020, the Salt Lake City innovator said the business ramped up in 2023 where companies were really wanting to improve how they worked.

“They realised that, over that time, there’s a lot of inefficiencies and there's a lot to be desired and trying to find the best way to do things, it was a perfect opportunity for us.

“Once you start generating revenue, then the next step after that is growth.”

Speaking to John Pulu on PMN Tonga, Taumoepeau hoped to eventually expand to the Pacific and modernise the emergency management system in Tonga.

The company had also developed an AI system called AIBL, or authentic intelligence beyond legacy, which will go into beta testing early next year.
