reCoup: Charting a New Course - part 3/ Cagi Vinaka E Liu: Fair Winds Ahead
This is part three in a documentary series by Pacific Media Network, made with the support of Pacific Cooperation Foundation, examining Fiji's evolving political and societal changes.
In our second episode we looked back to 1987 as well as the subsequent coup d'etat that have rocked Fiji over the last 36 years.
But in this episode we begin on Christmas Eve, 2022, when the man who initiated the first coup, Sitivini Rabuka was sworn in as Prime Minister.
And while both Fiji's Indian and iTaukei communities celebrated long into the night following this electoral victory, we examine whether Rabuka can be the leader Fiji needs to unify after decades of political instability.
