CCTV shows missing former Tonga league coach Mike McClennan

Police have released a short piece of CCTV footage showing missing former Tongan league coach Mike McClennan.

Search and Rescue teams are scouring the Hatfield’s Beach and Orewa area for 75-year-old Mr McClennan who was last seen on Wednesday afternoon walking along the Hibiscus Coast Highway.

Police say given the time that's passed since then, they are now "racing against the clock" to find Mr McClennan who suffers from dementia.

They've again appealed for information from anyone who may have picked Mr McClennan up and driven him to a different location.

"This could have been a tourist so it is imperative that our community help us get this message out there," say police.
