Could a flat tax get our economy moving again?

Now it’s time for Will’s Word…

And we’re talking tax yet again, because I’m hyper fixated on it at the moment I must confess.

Now full disclaimer I am no tax expert, this is ultimately based on what looks good to me as a voter.

But do we need to consider one tax rate in this country, instead of a progressive tax system which is what we currently have?

Now just indulge my thinking for a moment — would one tax rate incentivise people to work harder to keep more of the money they earn? It certainly would light a fire under me to do that.

Now in practice though it’s a different story – concerns that it would lead to terrible infrastructure and a weak public service – those fears are also warranted.
