Soulful R&B duo Adeaze released their newest track this week in the return of the decade, or rather, two decades.

‘Forever I am Yours’ brings back brothers Nainz and Viiz’s signature harmonies and lyrical love.

In a Facebook post, Adeaze expressed the unwavering support and commitment of their wives, who have been their pillars of strength since the beginning.

“‘Forever I am yours’ is dedicated to our dear wives, who have walked this journey with us since day 1.

“You have seen us at our highest and lowest, and with many reasons to give up, but you never did.

“WE LOVE YOUs BOTH SO MUCH AND OUR KIDS.”

With their reunion comes a desire to reconnect with their loyal fan base and introduce their music to a new generation of listeners.

The song is a nostalgic number of Adeaze’s sound with the vocal reverb, soft guitar strumming and picking, and heavy bass.

And with the melodic hook, that’s sure to resonate with the band’s fans who are craving the slow jams/love songs era of the 2000s.

The single’s release marked the two-year anniversary celebration of the Pacific-owned watch brand MATAI and the collaboration launched their limited edition Malaga collection.

Nainz said in the social media post that it was an “honour” to work with MATAI and the partnership brought an opportunity of reflection for him and his brother.

“This 'Malaga' timepiece represents for us a period where we took a step back to stop, be with our families, heal, grow, and be moulded again, preparing for the right season to return.

“The Father's timing is always perfect.”

Matai announced that with any purchase of the Malaga collection, people would also receive commissioned artwork of Adeaze by Gold Coast-based artist Penu Brewster.

Visuals for their song released last night and was shot, directed, and edited by Parker Films.

For most of the clip, the duo stand or sit on a fala with snippets of families and couples embracing one another, proudly adorning their measina.

A particularly poignant part of the music video is when Nainz and Viiz hold photos of pivotal Pacific community leaders, the late Green MP Fa’anānā Efeso Collins and broadcaster Tofilau Yolande Ah Chong who also died this year.

What a beautiful and powerful way for the duo to mark a triumphant return to the music scene.

Adeaze will feature among the stellar line-up of 46 reggae, soul, r&b, and hip-hop artists performing in the summer festival OneLove in Tauranga in January 2025.
