PMA Group partnership with PMN
PMN and 531pi are thrilled to announce that James Nokise, a renowned Pacific entertainer, podcaster, and sports pundit, will serve as the official Pacific Media Network (PMN) Olympics Correspondent for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
James Nokise, who is well known for his engaging podcast series and insightful commentary, is set to bring his unique perspective and enthusiasm to the biggest sporting event in the world.
The coverage is proudly supported by the Pasifika Medical Association Group, who are delighted to extend their sponsorship for PMN's Paris Olympics coverage this year.
PMA Group CEO Debbie Sorensen says they’re especially looking forward to seeing Pacific athletes take the world stage.
"Over the last three years, our sports strategy has highlighted the positive impact of sports on our Pacific community's health and wellbeing, so this partnership strongly aligns with our vision and values. We wish all our Pacific Olympians the very best in Paris."
Nokise, who is of Samoan descent, is a passionate advocate for Pacific sport. He says his coverage will focus on highlighting Pacific athletes and their achievements. He will provide in-depth coverage of both well-known and emerging Pacific athletes.
His prior experience includes covering the Rugby World Cup in France, where he delivered insights and stories to PMN audiences in 2023.
"I'm really passionate about Pacific sport,” says Nokise. “I'm passionate to see not just our well-known Pacific athletes, but some of the lesser-known Pacific athletes from smaller nations, who'll be in Paris to compete on the world stage."
PMN Chief Executive Don Mann is delighted to partner with the PMA Group to bring comprehensive and unique coverage of the Olympics, featuring the expertise of James Nokise.
Mann says the Olympics is a significant event to showcase the extraordinary talent and resilience of Pasifika athletes from around the world, especially those from the Pacific.
“In association with the PMA Group, and leveraging the talents of James Nokise as our correspondent, we are excited to bring every moment of excitement, dedication, and triumphs to our Pasifika audiences. Our coverage will ensure that the remarkable contributions of our Pacific athletes are seen and celebrated by our communities,” says Mann.
PMN's Olympics coverage will include exclusive interviews, live updates, and behind-the-scenes stories.
Nokise’s role was announced this morning on the 531pi breakfast show Pacific Mornings and will officially kick off with the opening ceremony on Friday, featuring a unique six-kilometre floating parade on the River Seine, setting the stage for an extraordinary Olympics experience.
During the Olympics, Noikise’s live crosses and interviews will feature on various 531pi radio shows, PMN social media platforms, as well as the PMN News service .
