US President Donald Trump lecturing wartime Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and demanding more gratitude was absurd and disgraceful, says William Terite.
In case you missed the action at the White House, you've got to go take a look.
'Extraordinary' and 'explosive' is the only way in which I could describe the exchange between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Now, Trump demanding that Zelensky should be more thankful is, to me at least, beyond embarrassing, it's actually disgraceful.
Zelensky is leading a country that's been under relentless attack from Russia for over two years, let's not forget it.
His people are dying, his cities are being bombed, and I'm sure he spends every waking moment trying to ensure that his people are safe and that, dare I say, Ukraine isn't wiped off the map.
And yet, here comes Trump, sitting in the comfort of the Oval Office, acting like Zelensky owes him a personal thank you parade.
I'm sure Zelensky has expressed gratitude more times than anyone could perhaps reasonably ask.
He's thanked Biden, he's thanked Trump, he's thanked Congress, he's thanked the American people, literally everyone involved in helping Ukraine, but not enough for Trump, apparently.
And that's the kicker, isn't it? It's like Trump is some kind of saviour, which he isn't, and so was absolutely explosive.

Trump threw a tantrum.
This is the same Trump who dodged the draft, the same Trump who spent years fawning over Putin, the same Trump who literally tried to withhold aid from Ukraine, unless they did him a personal political favour.
So at least to me, the idea that he, of all people, has the right to lecture a wartime president about gratitude is beyond absurd, and we should all take notice of what is going on at the moment.
That’s Will’s Word.
