The Diversity Festival returns to Auckland this weekend with the beloved flavours and vibrant performances of the city's many ethnic communities.

Previously hosted at Hayman Park, this year’s festival will be held at Westfield Manukau’s car park near the food court entrance.

Ōtara-Papatoetoe Local Board member Vi Hausia says he is excited to celebrate and embrace Tāmaki Makaurau’s many cultures.

“We are very diverse peoples, Pacific peoples, Asian peoples, African people, and this is an opportunity for us to show off who we are and show off what we are proud about.

“We're proud to be Kiwi but also proud of our ethnicities.”

The event, now in its seventh year, will include fun activities, live cultural performances, arts and crafts displays, and delicious food.

Speaking to John Pulu on PMN Tonga, Hausia encourages the public to come along.

“There's going to be food, there are going to be informational stores, there's going to be entertainment, and it’s all locally run for our local people.”

This year’s Diversity Festival promises to be ‘bigger, bolder, and better than ever’ celebrating culture, unity, and community spirit.

Hosted by Ōtara-Papatoetoe Local Board’s Eke Panuku Development Auckland and Westfield Manukau, the festival will run from 11am to 4pm on Saturday, 1 March 2025.
