Moana Pasifika focus on strong performance against the Reds

After a taxing season, Moana Pasifika have a chance to reward their loyal supporters with one last performance at home.

Moana Pasifika will prepare for what could be their final home game of the 2026 Super Rugby Pacific season when they host Queensland Reds on Saturday.

With just two round-robin matches remaining before the playoffs, Moana will leave nothing to chance as they look to bow out proudly at North Harbour Stadium.

It has been a mentally taxing season for the club, but Moana will be determined to finish strongly in front of their loyal and ever-present fanbase.

Moana Pasifika have won just one of their last four meetings against the Reds, claiming a narrow 17-14 victory back in 2024.

But the visitors arrive with mixed away form, having lost six of their last Super Rugby matches outside of Suncorp Stadium, including each of their last three.

Moana’s returning players will be hoping to continue that trend on home soil.

Back in the starting side is Patrick Pellegrini, who returns from injury at first-five, combining with experienced playmaker William Havili at fullback.

Tasked with leading Moana’s attack, Havili has consistently put his body on the line throughout the season.

The 27-year-old has produced three 50/22 kicks in play this year, the joint-most by any player in the competition.

Alongside his kicking game, Havili has recorded at least one tackle break in each of his last eight appearances.

Moana have also shown flashes of brilliance out wide this season, with outside back Glen Vaihu registering an impressive 13 clean breaks across his campaign.

Up front, Moana’s pack has been driven by the leadership of Miracle Faiilagi, whose consistency and humility have helped bring the best out of those around him.

Among them is number eight Semisi Tupou Taeiloa, who has been one of Moana’s standout performers this season.

Tae’iloa again earns a deserved start, sitting inside the competition’s top 10 for both defenders beaten (35) and tackles completed (145).
